Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a transparent protective layer designed to help guard vehicle paintwork against the risks of everyday use — light scratches, dust, staining, stone chips, and the UV exposure that dulls paint over time.

With PPF, your vehicle's original colour and character stay visible while the paint surface gains an extra layer of protection. The result: a car that keeps looking clean, glossy and cared for, the way it left the showroom.

At Kitawrapin we use TPU-based (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) PPF, which offers flexibility, clarity and optimal protection without compromising the vehicle's looks.

What is the difference between the 3 PPF materials: TPU Basic, TPU Hybrid, TPU+?

The only significant difference is material thickness. TPU Basic 200 micron, TPU Hybrid 215 micron, TPU+ 300 micron.

How long does PPF last?

PPF durability / lifespan is 8–10 years.

Does wrapping damage the original paint?

No, as long as the paint is original.

When paint does come off with a wrap, it is usually down to one of these factors:

  • The car has been repainted before (the most common factor)
  • The sticker/PPF was used beyond its lifespan
  • The sticker/PPF product was of poor quality
  • The quality of the car's own paint (aftermarket bodykits)

How do I care for the car after PPF installation?

Aftercare:

  1. Do not wash the car for 3–4 days — ideally not during the first week.
  2. If it rains during the first week, rinse with unpressurised water first; pressure/steam washing is fine after 2 weeks.
  3. Wash with pH-neutral soap.
  4. Do not use wax containing carnauba — a normal wash is all the care it needs.
  5. If water bubbles remain from installation, do not press them; they disappear on their own over time. In sunny weather, parking the car in the sun helps them clear faster.
  6. Some open folds are normal right after installation, but they need revising. Let our CS know so a revision can be scheduled (usually after 2 weeks / 1 month) for a full re-check.
Is PPF only for new cars?

No. Any car can be fitted with PPF. Our team will inspect the paint and discuss any preparation needed before installation.
