Frequently asked
questions
What is the difference between colored PPF and vinyl sticker?
Colored PPF
- Durability / lifespan up to 8 years
- TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) material
- 200 micron thick
- Self-healing (for fine scratches)
- Free maintenance once a year for its lifespan
Vinyl
- Durability / lifespan up to 3 years
- PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) material
- 80–110 micron thick
- More prone to scratches
- No free annual maintenance
Does wrapping damage the original paint?
No, as long as the paint is original.
When paint does come off with a wrap, it is usually down to one of these factors:
- The car has been repainted before (the most common factor)
- The sticker/PPF was used beyond its lifespan
- The sticker/PPF product was of poor quality
- The quality of the car's own paint (aftermarket bodykits)
How long does a color wrap last?
PET vinyl sticker lasts 3 years; TPU colored PPF lasts 8 years.
Can you wrap only part of the car?
Yes, although colour options are usually limited for partial wraps. Talk to us about what you need.
How do I care for the car after wrapping?
Aftercare:
- Do not wash the car for 3–4 days — ideally not during the first week.
- If it rains during the first week, rinse with unpressurised water first; pressure/steam washing is fine after 2 weeks.
- Wash with pH-neutral soap.
- Do not use wax containing carnauba — a normal wash is all the care it needs.
- If water bubbles remain from installation, do not press them; they disappear on their own over time. In sunny weather, parking the car in the sun helps them clear faster.
- Some open folds are normal right after installation, but they need revising. Let our CS know so a revision can be scheduled (usually after 2 weeks / 1 month) for a full re-check.
Do you wrap into the door jambs and inner frames?
We offer exterior wrapping only. If you would like the inner frames wrapped as well, talk to us first.
